NIH PostDoc Fellowship in SNA announcement

The Social Network Methods Section, within the Social and Behavioral Research Branch of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellowship. The Social and Behavioral Research Branch of the NHGRI has the mission to understand the broad swath of behavioral and social issues in translating genomic discovery for health promotion, disease prevention, and health care improvements. The Social Network Methods section offers training and research opportunities on a wide range of topics involving relational data and health.

Job description

We seek candidates with a topical interest in health, genomics, and/or epigenetics. Successful candidates will train in the Social Network Methods Section with an emphasis on analysis of large-scale networks, network inference, and other approaches to relational data structures.

Requirements

Candidates must have completed training at the doctoral level within 5 years of the position start date. Pre-doctoral (ABD) candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates from a variety of fields are welcome to apply, including sociology, psychology, demography, statistics, computer science, and epidemiology. A strong preference will be given to candidates with expertise in social network analysis, geographic information systems, exponential random graph models, graph theory, relational event analysis, and/or statistical programming (R, C, python, etc).
